STUDENT BIOGRAPHY

Brianna Castellanos is a fifth year student studying Architectural Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University. In May 2016, she will graduate with a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering in the Mechanical Option. Brianna achieved her LEED Green Associate in April 2015 and intends on taking the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam during the 2015-2016 school year.

After her junior year, Brianna spent seven weeks studying abroad in China through the Architectural Engineering program. She was enrolled in two of the top universities in Asia - Tsinghua University in Beijing, as well as the University of Hong Kong in Hong Kong. The 12 credits she completed included an International Construction Seminar, an Architecture Design Studio, an Urbanization in China course, and a Building Case Studies course. The invigorating cultural adventure also included day trips to Macau and Guangzhou, and an additional week in Shanghai.

During summer 2015, Brianna had the pleasure of interning for Bard, Rao + Athanas Consulting Engineers in Boston, MA. She was able to collaborate with teams of engineers on various healthcare facilities throughout the summer and gained valuable professional experience. Her most memorable responsibility was being the main engineer to design the ductwork on four stories of office space.

Throughout her time at Penn State, Brianna has been involved in Penn State's Dance MaraTHON, the ASHRAE Student Branch, and has been an active member of her engineering sorority, Phi Sigma Rho. Beyond Brianna's academic and professional life, she thoroughly enjoys traveling around the world, boxing, skiing, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Post graduation, Brianna will be working full-time for Bar, Rao + Athanas Consulting Engineers as an HVAC Engineer. She looks forward to a professional career where she can pursue a LEED AP credential and also obtain her Professional Engineer (PE) license.
